On traveling to Koh Phangan from Koh Samui which is also known as Ko Pha Ngan. Koh Phangan is an island in the Gulf of Thailand in southeast Thailand in Surat Thani Province.

Koh Phangan has two sister islands with the larger Ko Samui to the south and the smaller Ko Tao to the north. It is famous for its Full Moon Party on Haad Rin Beach. We got to Koh Phangan from Koh Samui by ferry which told about 40 mins.

We got accommodation for 2 nights which was on Haad Rin Beach and near the main nightlife on the island.

The hotel was fairly cheap at 14 euros a night, if this was the full moon party week the accommodation cost would be closer to 500 euros per night.

The full moon party is on Haad Rin beach. There do be other parties such as the half-moon party and jungle party.

They are not as popular as the full moon party and are a little bit too expensive.

Koh Phangan Haad Rin Beach

If walking on the Haad Rin beach beware of broken glass and cans in the sand.

Also, the beach is used as a toilet during the night as bars don’t generally have toilets, and the available ones, charge 20 baht to use.

Half Moon Party

There are a lot of other things to do on Koh Phangan other than the full moon party.

Like scuba diving, theirs always night markets, cooking classes, watching the sunset, boat trips rent a motorbike, and trekking.

Wrapping Up

Koh Phangan has a fair bit to offer such as nightlife, trekking, diving, and sunset on the beach but it is an island I never really warned Island, it is a little overpriced especially when the full moon party is on.

And that’s it for now! I’d love to know if this guide on my visit to Koh Phangan In Thailand has helped you. Let me know if you have any questions and let me know if there are any more places to visit in Thailand.
