Visiting Koh Tao in Thailand

Visiting Koh Tao in Thailand

We got a 2 hour ferry to Koh Tao from Koh Samui. Koh Tao means Turtle Island in Thai is an Island in Thailand.

And forms part of the Chumphon Archipelago on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand.

Checkout our travel tips before going to Thailand and interesting things to do on Koh Tao.

On arrival we signed up for a PADI scuba diving course. Which had accommodation included while we were doing the course that would 3/4 days to complete.

The bungalow we got while doing the open water PADI course was on Sairee beach.

With been busy doing the PADI scuba diving during the day, there is plenty of things to do.

There is the boat trips around the Island, snorkelling is a great option with been surrounded with large rock formations covered with coral reef.

With loads of marine life a few meters from shore, walk cycle. Or rent a moped to get around the Island and of course the nightlife as there is no shortage of bars in particular the Koh Tao pub crawl and the restaurants.

Another thing to do is that it’s so close to the national park of Nang Yuan, we did some of our diving here.

It’s protected, the waters are even clearer and beaches are even whiter than on Koh Tao.

It’s beautiful here, and there’s a hill you can climb to get a panoramic view of the Islands.

Wrapping Up

Koh Tao is a divers heaven but if water sports is not your thing then there is the nightlife in particular the Koh Tao pub crawl, go trekking, rent a moped around the Island or relax on the beach.

Hope you enjoyed this post about my visit of the Koh Tao in Thailand.
