We got a 2-hour ferry to Koh Tao from Koh Samui. Koh Tao means Turtle Island in Thai is an island in Thailand. And forms part of the Chumphon Archipelago on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand.

On arrival, we signed up for a PADI scuba diving course. Which had accommodation included while we were doing the course that would 3/4 days to complete.

Koh Tao Thailand Sunset from our bungalow

The bungalow we got while doing the open water PADI course was on Sairee Beach. With being busy doing the PADI scuba diving during the day, there are plenty of things to do.

There are boat trips around the Island, snorkeling is a great option with being surrounded by large rock formations covered with coral reefs.

With loads of marine life a few meters from the shore, walk cycle. Or rent a moped to get around the Island and of course the nightlife as there is no shortage of bars particularly the Koh Tao pub crawl and the restaurants.

Another thing to do is that it’s so close to the national park of Nang Yuan, we did some of our diving here.

It’s protected, the waters are even clearer and beaches are even whiter than on Koh Tao. It’s beautiful here, and there’s a hill you can climb to get a panoramic view of the Islands.

Koh Tao is divers heaven but if water sports are not your thing then there is the nightlife in particular the Koh Tao pub crawl, go trekking, rent a moped around the island, or relax on the beach.
