On traveling to Koh Samui also known as Ko Samui which is in the Gulf of Thailand, about 35 km northeast of Surat Thani town.
We flew to Surat Thani which is just over an hour’s flight from Bangkok, then we got a 2-hour ferry to Koh Samui. There are direct flights to Koh Samui but generally, they are not cheap.
We got accommodation for 2 nights which was about a 15-minute walk from Chaweng Beach and near the main nightlife on the island.

The Nightlife
The nightlife for us started in the Ark Bar which is located on Chaweng Beach with its fire shows and DJ every evening.
And when that closes we work our way to the Green Mango Club after a few pub stops along the way then again when that closes around 3 am, with more places open around the corner.
Visiting The Waterfalls
During the day we traveled around the island and visited the Namuang Reserve, a forested area. There are two waterfalls located here where you can go for a swim.
After the visiting Namuang reserve, we visited the Ang Thong Marine National Park with its many islands and snorkeling areas.
Then there is of course the Thai markets. There are several around the towns of the island. With delicious Thai food, clothes, cocktails, and souvenirs.
See A Muay Thai Fight
Again there’s always some Muay Thai at the Hat Chaweng Boxing Stadium as well. There you can see fights and normally the event takes about 2 to 3 hours.
Koh Samui has a lot to offer such as good nightlife, jungles, waterfalls, amazing beaches, and coral reefs but these were the things that stood out the most to me.
