Basics Before Visiting Vietnam
Getting A Vietnam Visa
This may seem obvious but most international travelers have to apply for a visa to enter Vietnam. Most international travelers going by air have to apply for a clearance letter before traveling to Vietnam.
Arrive with the letter, and you will receive the 30-day single-entry visa. Unlike other countries in South East Asia, where you can turn up and get stamped a tourist visa. To enter Vietnam this is not the case.
You need to apply for a single entry visa. Check the latest visa requirements with your nearest Vietnamese embassy. It cost $17 and took 4 days to get the letter via email.
Also, bring 2 passport photos and a printed copy of the letter. The single entry visa costs another $25 to get a passport stamped at the airport.
Get Travel Insurance
Things happen when traveling from motorbike crashes to theft. Considering the rules of the road are not enforced or obeyed in Vietnam.
Travel insurance is cheap and more than likely you will never need to use it but you will have peace of mind if something does happen, you are covered in case of an emergency.
Vietnam’s Climate
Vietnam has a subtropical climate, with its only district seasons. With the average temperature ranging from 20 – 35°C.
Where To Stay In Vietnam
Vietnam hotel rooms and hostels are fairly cheap by Western standards. A very basic small hotel room prices start from $5.
Safely, Pickpockets and Scams
Vietnam can be visited without further concern. Anyway, you should always be careful about yourself and your belongings while traveling.

Hung Sang Sot Cаvе

Nha Trang / Hue / Da Nang
If you’re facing time restrictions, you don’t really need to be seen. If you have some time, splitting up the long bus journey could be ideal with a stopover at Nha Trang.
We stopped in Da Nang, to visit Marble Mountain and check out the beach. We then checked out Hue for 2 days as it was the best place to check out the DMZ from the Vietnam War.
Hue also offers old monuments, palaces, and pagodas are some of the best that you’ll find in Vietnam.
Hoi An
Hoi An is a small town in central Vietnam. It is one of the nicest and most chilled-out places I visited in Vietnam. Hoi An is a UNESCO ancient town with more than 2,000 years of history.
Back in the 15th century, it was known as Faifo to the Eurореаnѕ. Hoi An was once an important trade center been one of the biggest ѕеароrts in the country.

Hoi An is also a popular place for getting your souvenirs, custom clothes, and textile markets. And other craftsmen can make pretty much anything you want and have it ready within a couple of days.
Explore The Old Town
The ancient town of Hoi An is small but is a UNESCO town. It was once the main trading port in the area so has a mix of different cultures from Chinese to Europeans.
When wandering the streets of the ancient town, you will see a clear mix of different cultures from street buildings to temples.
Visit The Beach
There are two beaches in Hoi An and the temperature averages around 25°C which is a comfortable temperature. The beach is a great place to go.
The first beach is Cua Dai Beach which is about 5km from the town center, The second beach is An Bang Beach which is not as busy as Cua Dai but it’s about a 10 to 15-minute drive outside of Hoi An.
Ho Chi Minh City | Saigon

The Reunification Palace or Independence Palace is a building that was once used as a residence for the presidency of southern Vietnam at the time before Vietnam was united.
The hallmark of the presidential palace, in general, is a vast expanse of green grass in front of the Reunification Palace and it also is very neat and clean.
So, you may spend one hour enjoying this Palace anyway.
