Lopburi

Lopburi is also known as the monkey city because you will see hundreds of monkeys just wandering around the town throughout the day.

There is also a monkey temple called Prang Sam Yod which are is the remains of the ancient Khmer-era temple. At the temple, you will see hundreds of more monkeys.

Lopburi Monkey Festival, which happens every last weekend of November.

If you go wandering around the town, generally speaking, the monkeys will leave you alone.

Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi island is home to Maya Bay where the film ‘the beach’ was made with Leonardo DiCaprio. Maya Bay is closed for the for seeable future.

The beach has beautiful views of karst cliffs and the sunset. You can go swimming even around the caves, or go rock climbing or just lounge around.
