We returned to Phnom Penh which was a one-night stopover. As we had returned from Sihanoukville and planned on going to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat.

We decided to visit the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh. The Royal Palace opening hours are usually open every day from 7:30 am to 11:00 am and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. And a $10 entrance fee.

In all honesty, the $10 was a bit pricey for what you get, as the palace was not that impressive. Plus the Throne Room and the Silver Pagoda can’t be photographed which are properly the only interesting things to see.

The Royal Palace is a complex of buildings that serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia.

It has been occupied since it was built in the 1860s, with a period of absence when the country came into turmoil during and after the reign of the Khmer Rouge.

The Throne Hall

The Throne Hall is where the king’s confidants, generals, and royal officials once carried out their duties. It is still in use today as a place for religious and royal ceremonies as well as a meeting place for guests of the King.
