Mount Batur is an active volcano that is in the center of two concentric calderas northwest of Mount Agung. This will involve getting up super early around 2 in the morning. This is to get there for the sunrise and it is well worth the trip.

This will involve a 4-hour hike with an accent that can be very rocky and small pebbles with a lot of big steps. You can book a tour from anywhere in Bali. you will have a guide and around four people. A small group works especially if fitness is not quite good.

Necessary essentials for the hike.

• Use good shoes as they can get very slippery and the trail is challenging.
• Bring water as it is quite expensive on top of the mountain.
• Bring a light jacket comes in handy as it can get cold and you will be sweaty.

Ride The Jungle Swing The Bali Swing

You have properly seen all the photos on Instagram of the Bali Swing. The Bali swing offers a spectacular view that overlooks the river, tropical greenery, and waterfalls.

You can also hire a photographer available at entry who will make sure you get the best pictures from different angles while you are on the swings.

There are numerous jungle swings ranging from 10 meters to 78 meters above the ground. With 12 single swings, 3 tandem swings, 1 single, 1 couple bed swing, and 1 family bed swing.

Explore The Tegalalang Rice Terrace

The view of the rice terrace in Bali is really stunning. And you properly have seen it on Instagram. The best thing about this place is that the Bali Swing and Rice Terrace are in the same area.

The rice terrace has a lot of groups who take pictures on the swings with the rice terraces in the background. Sunrise is properly the best time to visit the rice terraces. As it is still cool and you will not be sweating too much.

If you are visiting or staying in Ubud Bali, you should definitely try and visit the Monkey Forest. As well as a beautiful forest covered with tropical trees. As the name suggests there are monkeys there. The forest is home to several species of monkeys.

Locals sell bananas, you can feed the curious monkeys directly from your hand. You need to be cautious around the monkeys as they are still wild animals.

These monkeys are used to people so if you want to take a photo or get close to them, just hold on to your belongings. These are cheeky monkeys.

Visit Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

Bali is full of temples, this is one of the temples you will see all over Instagram. It is surrounded by a lot of greenery and is located on the shores of Lake Beratan.

The temple is well-maintained and has a lot of ancient architecture. The temple grounds are spread out with lust-green vegetation. There are well-laid-out pathways leading to the edge areas of Beratan Lake.

As well as that the premises have public facilities like toilets, restrooms, food, shopping and of course parking. On the way out you’ll find a lot of shops selling handicrafts, you will need some bargaining skills here.

Marvel At Uluwatu Temple

The awesome thing about this temple is its location as it’s built on the edge of a 230-foot cliff that sticks out into the sea. As a result, it is very popular at sunset and is known to get quite busy however if you visit late morning there aren’t as many people there.

Also, there are lots of Monkeys around the entrance so hide your valuables. Those monkeys are believed to be the guardians of the temple.

There isn’t a huge amount to see at the temple, rather just walk along the cliff edge and enjoy the view.

See Sekumpul Waterfalls

These are really beautiful waterfalls on the south of the island in Bali’s mountains. This will involve a pleasant 30-minute walk. This waterfall has an exotic white water river connecting to the 7 waterfalls.

At the waterfalls, you can bathe, where the water is clear and cold.

You can only get to the waterfalls with a local guide. The choice you have is a short trek for 125,000 Rp or a long trek for 200,000 Rp.

Be aware that there are booths selling overpriced tickets/trips to the waterfall starting at 300K per person and up to 900K per person.

Visit Elephant Cave

There are actually two temples in this cave where one is a Hindu temple and one is a Buddhist temple. The complex is huge with a large garden to explore.

Mainly, it is dedicated to the Hindu Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha represents elephants, hence the name of the temple.

Outside the cave, you’ll also find a pool where sculptures in the form of deities drain sacred water.

The food in Bali is a food lover’s paradise. There is so much food to choose from Indonesian food, fusion food, vegan, and the best coffees. You should try and find authentic local food but plenty of dining options ranging from casual cafe brunch and fresh seafood.

Best Time To Travel To Bali

Bali has an average temperature of between 27°C to 33°C all year round, with little seasonal variation. The wet season is between the months of October to April, while the dry season is between the months of November to March.

The best time to visit Bali is between April to June and then from September to October.
